Author and admin of this blog, Planner Mohammad Atikul Islam obtained his BURP (Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning) degree from Jahangirnagar University, Savar, Dhaka in 2007 . Then he completed his Master's degree in Development Studies (MDS) from the East West University, Aftabnagar, Dhaka, which was a multidisciplinary program consisting students from different academic and professional background. And MS in Disaster Management (MSDM) from Dept. of Geography and Environment, University of Dhaka. All his degree programs were designed focusing the field experiences and research work and independently conducted thesis works. Presently, he is working as Sr. Assistant Urban Planner in Consultancy Division of Sheltech Pvt. Ltd. since 2013 and working as Assistant Urban Planner since 2008 and joins as Assistant Town Planner in 2007. He also employed as Director of Planning and Research in dm.Watch (Disaster Management Watch)science 2013. As a representative of planning profession in Bangladesh, as he has been Member of (BIP), served as General Secretary (Acting from 2010 to 2011), Executive member (from 2008 to 2010) and Ex-member (2013) of Jahangirnagar University Planner’s Alumni Association (JU Planners) and Associate Member of Bangladesh Society of Geo-Informatics (BSGI).
